👀 VigIA · Changelog

What's new in VigIA

Every version, dated. The plugin updates itself; you can also force it with "Check for updates" on your plugins list. Download the latest version.

  1. v0.9.15

    Latest version

    Improved

    • The panel footer also links to SeoNova on X and on LinkedIn, next to the website and the Telegram channel.
  2. v0.9.14

    Fixed

    • Amazon's crawlers are now recognised as what they are, so their visits stop turning up among the suspicious ones.
  3. v0.9.13

    New

    • The panel now ends with a small footer saying who makes VigIA, with a link to seonova.pro and to the Telegram channel where we post what we find out about bots.

    Improved

    • The version shown in the panel header is always the version of the plugin you have installed. They could drift apart before.
    • Tested with WordPress 7.1.
  4. v0.9.12

    Improved

    • The version in the header no longer looks like a badge stuck on the logo. It now sits on the same line as the name, in the subtitle colour, the way a version number should read: as a minor detail, not a label.
  5. v0.9.11

    New

    • The breakdown of good bots now shows an arrow next to each engine: green up if it rose against the same seven days before, red down if it fell. Hover it and it tells you last week's figure.
    • The panel header now shows the version you have installed.

    Improved

    • The arrow stays hidden until there are two full weeks with the per-engine split, so the week the split started does not read as a huge rise.
    • When the previous week had very few visits, only the arrow is shown, with no percentage: going from 12 visits to 141 is a real +1075% and still tells you nothing.
  6. v0.9.10

    Fixed

    • Fewer real search engines flagged as fakes: recognition of Apple, DuckDuckGo and Bing has been rebuilt from their official sources.

    Improved

    • The lists are now built from the official sources, and a range wide enough to approve anyone stops the release.
  7. v0.9.4

    Improved

    • The two progress bars in the verdict are now the same length: the number on the right has a fixed slot, so "2/3" and "604/1,000" no longer move them.
  8. v0.9.3

    Fixed

    • After updating, the new column and the one-off re-pass were stuck behind an hourly stamp, so ad bots could stay red for up to an hour. They now run on their own, right away.

    Improved

    • The same WPO Toolkit line no longer repeats under every bad bot. The offer is made once, in the link below the table.
  9. v0.9.2

    Improved

    • The cache and Cloudflare notices now use the full width, like the explanation under the tables.
  10. v0.9.1

    Improved

    • On update, the visits already stored are run through the new criteria once, so ad bots and traffic senders stop showing up in red and the misread names are fixed without waiting for them to visit again.
    • The explanation under the tables can be closed too, and comes back in a month.
  11. v0.9.0

    New

    • New group: **bots that are worth it**. Ad verification, social link previews and real search engines used to be counted as junk and charged against your ad money, while their own card said do not block them. They now have their own group, out of the junk figure and out of the cost.

    Fixed

    • A bot with a Mac user-agent was named after the computer ("Intel") instead of after itself, and the name is now also found when it comes at the end of the user-agent (OAI-SearchBot).
    • WhatsApp link previews were counted as people.
    • Google-Adstxt is now checked by IP like the rest of Google.
    • The uninstaller left six options behind.
  12. v0.8.14

    New

    • The header is now a scene that follows the mode: dark sky with stars and a lit arrow slit at night, clear sky with the light off by day.

    Improved

    • The moon and the sun now show where you are, not where you are going.
    • The ES/EN switch became the ground under the tower, and the inactive language no longer fades out in light mode.
  13. v0.8.13

    Improved

    • The ES/EN switch is now the plinth the tower stands on, with the moon or the sun above it: one single scene instead of three loose controls.
  14. v0.8.12

    New

    • The cache and Cloudflare notices can be closed. They come back after a month, because those things change and a notice hidden forever ends up lying.

    Improved

    • The day/night button now sits above the tower, like the moon or the sun over it.
    • The red key reads Bad bots, the same name used everywhere else in the panel.
  15. v0.8.11

    Fixed

    • On sites that cannot reach the WordPress emoji server, the coloured keys and the day/night button showed up as broken image icons. They are now drawn locally and nothing is fetched from outside.

    Improved

    • The active panel language is now underlined, not just tinted.
  16. v0.8.10

    New

    • New look: the menu icon is now a chess rook with an arrow slit instead of the generic WordPress shield, and the panel header carries the same mark, the wordmark and the three colour keys.
  17. v0.8.9

    Improved

    • The two first cards now carry the week-over-week change: visits per day and how many points the junk share moved, green when it drops and red when it climbs. The bot percentage now says junk bots, which is what it counts: verified good ones are listed separately.
  18. v0.8.8

    Improved

    • The daily chart moves up next to the weekly bar, so the two pictures of the same traffic sit together, above the tables.
  19. v0.8.7

    Improved

    • The weekly bar now sits right under the breakdown it summarises, instead of further down above the daily chart.
  20. v0.8.6

    Improved

    • The weekly summary bar is now a single row: each block is as wide as its share and carries its name and its number inside. Before it was two rows saying the same thing.
  21. v0.8.5

    Fixed

    • The WordPress.org username in the readme was wrong.
  22. v0.8.4

    New

    • Screenshot captions for the WordPress.org listing.
  23. v0.8.3

    Better

    • Translations are loaded with load_textdomain() instead of the plugin helper WordPress.org has discouraged since 4.6. The bundled Spanish and the ES/EN switch keep working the same.
  24. v0.8.2

    Better

    • The update-channel address now lives inside the updater file, so it is not even mentioned in the WordPress.org package.
  25. v0.8.1

    Better

    • Second pass of the official checker: the last translator comments, escaping notes and header details.
  26. v0.8.0

    Better

    • Passes the official WordPress.org checker with zero errors: output escaping, translator comments, sanitising of URL and server input, no direct file writes, and the panel styles and script loaded the WordPress way.
    • It now requires WordPress 5.4 (it already used a function from that version, so claiming 5.2 was wrong).
  27. v0.7.9

    Better

    • Chart bars now have a maximum width. With only a few days of data they came out as huge blocks side by side, more wall than chart.
  28. v0.7.8

    Better

    • The daily chart spans the full width of the screen and stays wider than it is tall instead of turning into a giant square. Bars widen to fit the space they have.
  29. v0.7.7

    Better

    • The daily chart draws the days you actually have, not 30 always. Freshly installed it used to be four bars squashed against the right edge of an empty box; now they fill the width.
    • It has a grid with the numbers on the side, so the bars can be read, and dates along the bottom.
    • The heading says the real number of days ("Last 7 days"), not a flat 30.
  30. v0.7.6

    Better

    • The "who has visited" lists open with a coloured header row: blue for good bots, red for bad ones, with the total beside it. You can tell which list you are reading at a glance.
    • The panel uses the full width instead of stopping halfway across the screen.
    • The last-30-days block leads with three coloured labels (humans, good bots, bad bots) and a thin proportion bar underneath.

    Fixed

    • In dark mode the "I want WPO Toolkit to stop them" link was dark blue on a dark background and could not be read.
  31. v0.7.5

    Fixed

    • The privacy answer used to say "no external services, no telemetry". That stopped being true once the update check, the opt-in anonymous stats and the feedback box were added. It now says exactly what goes out, when, and what is stored about your visitors.
    • Tested up to WordPress 7.1 (it still claimed 6.8).
  32. v0.7.4

    Fixed

    • Your own site visiting itself (the WP Rocket preloader and WordPress internal calls) was counted as HUMAN visits. It no longer is.
    • Several crawlers that were counted as people because of the shape of their name are now detected.
    • Seven crawlers show their real name instead of a cut URL or "Mozilla": YouBot, Amazon SearchBot, Sogou, Peer39, Proximic, HubSpot and SofyaBot.
  33. v0.7.3

    New

    • A "Send me a test report now" button under the report settings: it sends the Monday email with your real data, without waiting for Monday. It does not use up the level-change notice, so Monday still gets it.
  34. v0.7.2

    Better

    • The Monday report compares you with last week ("18% more bad bots"), tells you the total spent since you installed VigIA, and announces the verdict only when the level changes instead of repeating it every Monday.
    • It flags bots seen for the first time that week and brings a different WPO Toolkit advantage each week.
    • If the week was quiet, the email is three lines long.

    Fixed

    • "The last 7 days" counted 8. The window is now exact, and the day boundary uses your site time, not London time.
    • The top offenders table says where its numbers come from when the log does not cover the whole week.
  35. v0.7.1

    Better

    • The verdict no longer leaves you in the dark: with 3 days and 200 visits it already tells you what your site needs, marked as preliminary, and confirms it at 1,000. It used to stay silent until 1,000.
    • If there is a shield in front of your site (Cloudflare, Sucuri, QUIC.cloud), the panel says so: whatever it blocks never reaches WordPress, so what you see here is what got through.
  36. v0.7.0

    New

    • Colours in the latest-visits list: green for a person, blue for a verified good bot, red for a bad one. One glance, no reading.
    • Two buttons to download what you see: the visits in full detail and the day-by-day summary, as CSV (opens in Excel or Google Sheets).

    Better

    • The detailed list now keeps more visits, so you can look further back.
    • GoogleOther (the Google crawler that is NOT the Search one) now shows its name and its file instead of appearing as "Mozilla". Any bot disguised as a browser now shows its real name too.
  37. v0.6.4

    New

    • If your site has a page cache (WP Rocket, LiteSpeed, W3 Total Cache and others), the panel now tells you in one line. VigIA counts what reaches WordPress: with a cache in front the totals are a floor, not the full number. The percentages still hold, and bad bots show up anyway because they go for URLs nobody caches.
  38. v0.6.3

    New

    • When the plugin updates itself, the email WordPress sends you no longer just says "updated": it now tells you what changed, in your language, with a link to this news page.
  39. v0.6.2

    Fixed

    • Right after updating, the plugins list could keep offering a version you already had, and the notice stayed for hours. The plugin now reads its version from the file on disk instead of trusting the copy PHP still holds in memory, and a stale notice clears itself on the next admin page.
    • The plugin is now signed by its real author: SeoNova.
  40. v0.6.0

    New

    • Updates itself when a new version comes out. On from the start, and the switch is yours in the plugins list if you would rather approve each update by hand.
    • Click any visitor name, good or bad, and its file opens up: what it is, why it landed in that list, whether it brings you visits, whether it respects robots.txt, when it first and last showed up, which pages it took, which addresses it came from and how it introduces itself.
    • Plain-words files on the best known bots: Google, Bing, AdSense, GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Bytespider, Ahrefs, Semrush, Yandex, Baidu and many more.

    Fixed

    • The plugin now cleans up leftovers from older installs by itself (it used to be called Bot Cost Radar and then Vigia de Bots). No more ghost entries in the plugins list that refuse to be deleted, and no more FTP. If a file cannot be removed because of permissions, it tells you the exact path.
  41. v0.5.0

    New

    • Collapsible "Want to leave us a question or your opinion?" form at the bottom of the panel — optionally attaching your site's diagnosis so we can help better.
    • Each bad bot now shows what WPO Toolkit would do about it.
    • Optional anonymous stats (off by default): aggregates only, never your domain or IPs.

    Better

    • The "Stop them" button now goes to the real WPO Toolkit page on seonova.pro, in the panel's language.
  42. v0.4.8

    Fixed

    • Big clouds are now flagged as data centres, so a virtual machine browsing with an ordinary browser stops counting as a person.
    • The identity checker (reverse DNS) self-heals if its scheduled task goes missing, and recolors old mislabeled visits.
    • Repeated visits to the same page are recorded once.
  43. v0.4.7

    New

    • The verdict links to our plain-English guide "What Cloudflare does for your website" (free vs Pro), in your language.
  44. v0.4.4

    Better

    • Verdict explained for everyone: each level says WHAT it recommends and WHY (what Cloudflare is, what the free plan gives, what Pro costs). Includes 0.4.5 (verdict box tinted green/amber/red) and 0.4.6 (guide link on all 3 levels).
  45. v0.4.3

    Better

    • The verdict now recommends 3 days with traffic and 1,000 visits (more visits = finer read), with progress bars filling up.
    • Impatient? "Show me the verdict now anyway" reveals a preliminary verdict, clearly marked.

    Fixed

    • The ES/EN language switch didn't apply (0.4.1–0.4.2): it now works and is remembered per user.
  46. v0.4.0

    New

    • Panel language switch (ES/EN) next to the theme toggle, remembered per user.
    • The verdict card shows a progress bar filling toward the data it needs.
  47. v0.3.0

    New

    • New name: VigIA de SeoNova.

    Fixed

    • Dark mode: the leftover white box is gone (0.3.1: "Check for updates" link moved next to the description).
  48. v0.2.4

    New

    • Clear 3-color chart: humans (green), good bots (blue), bad bots (red) — big weekly bar + 30-day stacked chart.
    • (0.2.5) Each bot named: AdSense, Googlebot, Bingbot… plus a "Who has visited" section listing good vs bad.

    Fixed

    • (0.2.3) Static files (CSS, images, fonts) no longer counted as visits.
  49. v0.2.0

    New

    • Verdict without AI: with enough history the radar tells you if WPO Toolkit alone is enough, free Cloudflare is worth it, or your case calls for Pro — fixed, auditable thresholds.
    • (0.2.1) Self-updates from our public channel. (0.2.2) "Check for updates" link.

    Better

    • RPM setting lives next to the money card; visits table with pagination and page-size choice.
  50. v0.1.0

    New

    • First version: 5-bucket visit radar (human, good, impostor, data center, declared), money cost estimate from your RPM, dashboard with 30-day chart and dark/light mode, weekly email report. English and Spanish.
