The idea in one sentence
Cantera runs on your PC. Your keys, your listings and your database stay on your computer. We see almost nothing.
What stays on your PC
- AI and search keys, and your WordPress username and password: encrypted on your machine.
- The database with your listings, texts, research and stats.
- The app’s activity logs.
What leaves your PC and where it goes
- To the services you configure (AI providers, search engines, data sources): the text needed to research and write each listing (business name, address, what is found online). It travels with your keys and under each provider’s privacy terms. If you choose a local model on your GPU, that never leaves your PC.
- To your WordPress: the listings, metadata and images Cantera publishes.
- To search engines (Bing, Google): a notice that one of your pages is new or changed (public URL only).
- To SeoNova: a version check on start-up and every 12 hours. It carries the app version number and, as with any web request, your IP address. No machine identifier, no listing data, no keys.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell data. We have no access to your WordPress or your keys. There is an option, off if you switch it off and asked at install time, for anonymous statistics: see the next section.
Anonymous statistics (optional)
If you leave it on, once a day the app sends us: the version number, the operating system, a random identifier for that installation (not derived from your hardware or your name), how many listings and seedings it did that day, and serious errors (technical message and five lines of trace, with no user paths). Never listing texts, keys, business names or addresses. You can see exactly what is sent and switch it off from the app’s Legal button.

Your rights
Since almost nothing is in our hands, deleting your data is as easy as uninstalling Cantera and removing its folder. For what we do hold (emails, newsletter), write to [email protected].
